With over 47 years of experience in Obstetrics and Gynecology, I’ve had the privilege of helping countless individuals through all stages of life. However, early in my career, I found myself feeling disconnected from the traditional path of medicine. Alongside the challenges of practicing in a demanding field, I also struggled with personal health issues, including asthma and chronic back pain. These struggles sparked a desire for deeper understanding and healing.

As I became increasingly intolerant of medications, I turned to Alternative and Complementary therapies in search of a more holistic approach to health. Over the years, I pursued certifications in Ayurveda, Yoga, and Acupuncture, integrating these practices into my medical care. This shift not only revitalized my own health but also brought new depth and satisfaction to my practice.

Through this journey, I discovered the profound impact that lifestyle and dietary changes, combined with the wisdom of Ayurveda and Yoga, can have on overall well-being. I saw firsthand how patients who were committed to these approaches experienced transformative results.

Personally, embracing Ayurvedic and Yogic practices has given me vitality, balance, and a deep sense of purpose. At 76, I am grateful for my health and the energy to continue helping others. My goal is to offer my patients a range of options—fusing the best of modern medicine with holistic therapies—so they can find their own path to healing.

Healing Through Experience: A Journey of Medicine and Transformation

Meditation is the art of turning inward, focusing the mind, and finding stillness. It is a powerful tool for reducing stress, improving mental clarity, and cultivating emotional well-being. Meditation has numerous benefits, including enhancing concentration, improving sleep quality, and fostering a sense of calm in the midst of life’s challenges. Regular practice helps train the mind to remain centered and calm, even during stressful times.

Holistic Approaches to Nourish Body, Mind, and Spirit

Ayurveda is an ancient system of medicine that originated in India over 5,000 years ago. It focuses on restoring balance in the body, mind, and spirit by considering each individual’s unique constitution, known as their "dosha." The three primary doshas—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha—represent different combinations of the five elements (earth, water, fire, air, and ether), and each person has a dominant dosha that influences their physical, mental, and emotional characteristics.

In Ayurveda, wellness is about living in harmony with nature. Diet, lifestyle, and daily rituals are tailored to your dosha to promote balance and prevent illness. Simple practices like using specific herbs, following a daily routine (dinacharya), and eating nourishing, seasonal foods can have a profound impact on your health. Ayurveda encourages self-awareness and mindfulness, offering a path to not only healing but thriving.

Yoga is much more than physical postures—it’s a holistic practice that integrates physical movement, breath control (pranayama), meditation, and ethical principles into a unified path toward wellness. The physical practice of yoga (asana) helps build strength, flexibility, and balance, but it also supports emotional and mental health by calming the nervous system and promoting mindfulness.

Even if you’re new to yoga, starting with simple poses or gentle flow sessions can quickly bring benefits like improved flexibility, reduced stress, and enhanced focus. Over time, yoga becomes a tool for cultivating inner peace, better posture, and emotional stability. It’s a practice for anyone, regardless of age or fitness level, and it can be easily adapted to meet your personal needs.
